About Formal Education

Printer-friendly version

Volunteers working in formal Education are assigned to the Ministry of Secondary Education to work in underserved middle and high schools as math, science and IT teachers. Formal classroom instruction is limited to 10 hour per week. Volunteers will therefore have time to focus on other aspects of development (health, hygiene, environmental protection, etc.) while still being able to target students at critical moments in their student-life cycle through tutoring programs, leadership clubs and community activities. Secondary projects with these same goals take place over school vacations.
